Florida - Magic Kingdom - Day 3 Part 2 2018-06-01

After a fun start to the day at the Animal Kingdom, everyone headed to Epcot to finish our trip.

Alli swapping places with Ian and giving him a push.

The kids love Spaceship Earth.

When you know what picture to expect, you can match your face to the figures. Theresa unfortunately didn't get recognized.

While we're in the area, might as well get a popcorn refill. I like how it includes all the flavored popcorns too.

Once again the kids are using their imagination with Figment.

And enjoying the fun-zone afterwards. After designing her dragon, what name did she want to give her? Figment of course.

Hi Jacob! Just a quick stop to say hello and hand off our popcorn bucket. He'll be staying for a few more days. We're leaving tomorrow.

Wandering around the world showcase, the France pavilion looked inviting. Everyone enjoyed the Impressions de France film. Perhaps a visit is in order before too long...

After you exit, you are greeted by the Boulangerie and Patisserie. No-one has had dinner yet, and French food is delicious. Anything that looked tasty, we ordered, with the intention of splitting it later at the table. Alli pointing out something pink.

Say Fromage!

A delicious strawberry tart.

So many things going on. Two different types of quiche, chocolate brioche, creme brûlée, and a Napoleon Cake.

Ian saw the many colors of macarons and wanted the assortment. He gave out the colors to whoever wanted them. Any guesses who wanted the pink macaron?

Someone likes chocolate. I certainly wasn't disappointed with the food from France. Everything was tasty.

Our meal finished, it was time to hightail it over to the Frozen ride before the park closes.

And we made it with minutes to spare. They closed the doors shortly after getting there. Look at the queue behind us! Empty!

Bye Elsa!

Gram and the kids have been looking for a penny press for the last couple days but didn't find any they loved. Exiting Epcot though, there's a few different penny machines available.

Alli was really proud of hers.

It's Duffy!

Ian of course wanted to help crank his penny out.

Loving it!

Mickey! Along with the Epcot logo.

All trips must come to an end. Now it's time to head home. Luckily enough for us, our flight isn't until later this afternoon, so we've got some time to spare.

The pool at the condo we're renting was a great place to hang out all morning.

Yep, Ian can still do this. He's starting to get heavy though!

Time to head to the airport. Everyone has to carry something.

Ending the trip with how we started it. A ride on the airport train.

Bye Pop Pop!

Love you Gram!

Time to fly home. It's been a fun trip. First to Michigan and then ending in Florida.
Luckily these guys are good travelers.

Tanaka Farms 2017 - Pumpkin Patch

Welcome to Tanaka Farms! Technically it's Fall, but you wouldn't know it based on the weather here. High 80s and no clouds in the sky. We'd originally planned to go to a pumpkin patch weeks ago, but the temps were in the high 90s! A few of our neighbors took the 45 minute drive south with us. Our timing was great this morning. We arrived just a few minutes before opening at 9am. Nice shirts! Apparently everyone else decided to spend their Sunday morning at the pumpkin patch too. We were just at Disneyland yesterday. It was every bit as crowded here. Oh boy. Someone got that kid a map. Parking is free here. Entry is just $3. For $10 you can get entry, a wagon ride, and entrance to the petting zoo. Kids 2 and under were free. Before it got too busy we decided to get the wagon ride in. We've got a whole family of Mickey and Minnie ghosts. The wagon ride was a quick 10 minute drive around the perimeter of the farm. There's no narration or anything telling you what you...

Oak Glen Apple Farms - Part 1

It's the weekend! This year we're not going to get the chance to fly to Michigan to visit the apple orchards there. Theresa was still really wanting to go and the kids have been getting really excited about picking apples so Theresa found a place relatively close by and made it happen! Welcome to Oak Glen! Just a 2 hour drive from our house, this mountain community had its first apple orchards planted all the way back in 1867. Now home to over 30 different orchards, this 5 mile loop is affectionately known as Apple Country. After Ian got out of school, everyone piled in the car and headed for the hotel T booked. We're making it a 2 day event, staying the night in between so we can get an early start in the morning. After checking in and getting up to our rooms, Ian was very happy to find a quarter (remember this one, it'll come back later). Time to head to our first orchard! Snow-Line Orchard has been in production since 1898. I was really happy to come on a Friday. It...

Alli takes on more 40" rides at Disneyland

It's been a full weekend already, spending 2 days in Oak Glen California visiting apple orchards, but we're not done yet. Weekends are perfect for a Disneyland visit. I love seeing all the different Halloween decorations, plus Alli just turned 40" tall so she's got lots of brand new things she can ride. Hats this week continue the Nightmare Before Christmas theme from last week. From left to right, we've got a Jack Skellington style top-hat from Disneyland years ago. Next is Jack Skellington bursting out of a pumpkin which I think was offered last year at Disneyland. Then there's a Scary Teddy hat, followed by a Santa Jack hat complete with beard. Both parks open today at 8am. At 8:05 we were in a long line of cars trying to enter the parking structure, and by 8:45 we had made it through security and were walking through Downtown Disney. I always opt to take the 1 mile walk from the parking garage to the entrance instead of dealing with the tram. One other ...
