Jolly Time Popcorn - new flavors!

Every once in a while when we're out shopping I'll find something unique that I know I'll have to sample. Today it was Jolly Time popcorn in three interesting flavors!

We opened them up and the whole family tasted them and decided on their favorites.

First up is Birthday Cake - Snack like it's your birthday pop corn
  • Colorful and sweet, JOLLY TIME Birthday Cake gives you a reason to celebrate every day! Made with light and airy popcorn, sweet vanilla glaze and the fun of pastel sprinkles, this super tasty recipe takes the cake.

And it even has confetti sprinkles! This was the favorite of many, and not just because of the sprinkles. The sweet vanilla definitely stands out and it has a cupcake-like flavor.

Sweet Maple Pancake - Brunch inspired pop corn.
Sweet Maple Pancake was what got my interest in the first place. Maple is delicious. Maple donuts, maple syrup, maple candy. Yum.
  • Sweet Maple Pancake is a brunch-inspired treat that you can enjoy on-the-go! JOLLY TIME Sweet Maple Pancake combines the taste of homemade pancakes, sweet maple decadence, and delicious crispy popcorn into one tasty treat. This popcorn is packed with flavor—no syrup needed.

Out of the three, this was my favorite. And it was the 2nd favorite of many others. Loved the maple flavor.

Cinnamon Sugar Cookie - Cookie flavored pop corn
  • JOLLY TIME Cinnamon Sugar Cookie puts a twist on the old-fashioned, quintessential cookie—and it’s not only for the holidays! Just the right amount of cinnamon sugar topping and buttery flavor complimented with a caramel note.

Not the favorite of anyone, and I really only bought it because it was part of the same bunch of new flavors. It wasn't bad by any means, but I was really liking that maple popcorn more.

I've got a few more interesting food posts coming up, including Lay's Summer Flavors and the Hershey's Flavors of America.

Tanaka Farms 2017 - Pumpkin Patch

Welcome to Tanaka Farms! Technically it's Fall, but you wouldn't know it based on the weather here. High 80s and no clouds in the sky. We'd originally planned to go to a pumpkin patch weeks ago, but the temps were in the high 90s! A few of our neighbors took the 45 minute drive south with us. Our timing was great this morning. We arrived just a few minutes before opening at 9am. Nice shirts! Apparently everyone else decided to spend their Sunday morning at the pumpkin patch too. We were just at Disneyland yesterday. It was every bit as crowded here. Oh boy. Someone got that kid a map. Parking is free here. Entry is just $3. For $10 you can get entry, a wagon ride, and entrance to the petting zoo. Kids 2 and under were free. Before it got too busy we decided to get the wagon ride in. We've got a whole family of Mickey and Minnie ghosts. The wagon ride was a quick 10 minute drive around the perimeter of the farm. There's no narration or anything telling you what you...

Oak Glen Apple Farms - Part 1

It's the weekend! This year we're not going to get the chance to fly to Michigan to visit the apple orchards there. Theresa was still really wanting to go and the kids have been getting really excited about picking apples so Theresa found a place relatively close by and made it happen! Welcome to Oak Glen! Just a 2 hour drive from our house, this mountain community had its first apple orchards planted all the way back in 1867. Now home to over 30 different orchards, this 5 mile loop is affectionately known as Apple Country. After Ian got out of school, everyone piled in the car and headed for the hotel T booked. We're making it a 2 day event, staying the night in between so we can get an early start in the morning. After checking in and getting up to our rooms, Ian was very happy to find a quarter (remember this one, it'll come back later). Time to head to our first orchard! Snow-Line Orchard has been in production since 1898. I was really happy to come on a Friday. It...

Alli takes on more 40" rides at Disneyland

It's been a full weekend already, spending 2 days in Oak Glen California visiting apple orchards, but we're not done yet. Weekends are perfect for a Disneyland visit. I love seeing all the different Halloween decorations, plus Alli just turned 40" tall so she's got lots of brand new things she can ride. Hats this week continue the Nightmare Before Christmas theme from last week. From left to right, we've got a Jack Skellington style top-hat from Disneyland years ago. Next is Jack Skellington bursting out of a pumpkin which I think was offered last year at Disneyland. Then there's a Scary Teddy hat, followed by a Santa Jack hat complete with beard. Both parks open today at 8am. At 8:05 we were in a long line of cars trying to enter the parking structure, and by 8:45 we had made it through security and were walking through Downtown Disney. I always opt to take the 1 mile walk from the parking garage to the entrance instead of dealing with the tram. One other ...
